The Rubiton Stakes is a 1100 metre set weights plus penalties race run by the Melbourne Racing Club in February. It is run at Caulfield on CF Orr Stakes Day during the Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival.

Rubiton Stakes Race History

The race was first held as a Listed race in 1989 and was won by Zeditave. It became a Group 3 race in 1992 and was upgraded to it’s current Group 2 status in 2013. In 1996 and 2006 it was run over 1000m at Sandown. It was originally run under weight-for-age conditions but changed to set weights plus penalty conditions in 2010.
