Kembla Grange Classic Race Information
The Kembla Grange Classic is a 1600 metre set weights plus penalties race for three-year-old fillies run by the Illawarra Turf Club in March. It is held at Kembla Grange as the feature event of the meeting.

Kembla Grange Classic Race History
The race was first held as a Listed race over 1600m called the Keith F Nolan Classic in 2003 when it was won by Ain’t Seen Nothin’ trained by Barbara Joseph and ridden by John Scorse. Keith Nolan was the founding chairman of the Illawarra Turf Club, and he passed away in 2005. It was upgraded to the current Group 3 status in 2010. and in 2011 it was held over 1800m at Rosehill because the Kembla Grange track was unsuitable for racing. From 2016 it has been known as the Kembla Grange Classic.
In 2022 it was transferred to Goulburn as heavy rain made Kembla unsafe.
