WJ Healy Stakes – 2022

Track: Good Weather: Fine

Good contest with King Of Sparta leading the market from the Snowden stable and strikes its suitable dry ground. Baller is next in the market and can rocket over the top of this lot white Alpine Edge and Shooting For Gold both need to lift on form but find a winnable race to do so. The tempo will only be just fair so the leaders may be able to pinch this.

1. Baller (10)

Has a ripping turn of foot and was excellent last start. Bowman sticks who is 1/1 aboard and this is another winnable race. Massive claims in this field and should prove hard to hold out with even luck from the draw.

2. Prime Candidate (12)

Very good last start. Can lead these up and prove hard to run down. Over the odds in an even field and has a strong 4th up record. Likeable claims.

3. Blondeau (4)

Racing in good fashion but yet to find the placings at the track. Can win with luck and if the gaps open up however prefer others.

4. Ranges (6)

Won well last start and maps to get a suitable run in transit. 1/1 at the track and can win again in what is a winnable race.

5. Shooting For Gold (17)

Has plenty of ability but has been down on form recently and needs to lift. Has a super record at this track and is 1/1 4th up but gets no favours from the draw and needs to find more.

6. Written Beauty (13)  – SCRATCHED

7. Greyworm (8)

Can’t have.

8. King Of Sparta (5)

Does go well fresh and drawn to perfection with barrier 5. Berry sticks and loves a dry track. Usually finds the placings over this trip. Ticks plenty of boxes and can go close in this.

9. Garibaldi (16)

Will be needing a fair track but did return well and does love racing here. Strong 2nd up record and overall this race is lacking depth. Can win and was excellent on resumption. Nice each way bet.

10. Doctor Zous (7)

Would prefer in something easier.

11. Simply Fly (2)

Yet to win at this track but did run extremely well last start. Maps well and looks over the odds but the record at the track is of concern.

12. Alpine Edge (14)

Has been a little disappointing this prep but does love racing here and strikes a dry track. Expecting improvement and can be fighting out the finish at resonable odds.

13. Juan Diva (15)

Suited to this field and has the right amount of class to take this out. Tricky draw but can figure if the runs present.

14. Mass Destruction (11)

Had a big finish last start and this race isn’t overly harder. Has a hard running pattern to catch but is more than capable of winning.

15. Tramonto (3)

Can’t have.

16. Joy To All (9)

Going along well but this is harder. Keep an eye on the market.

17. April Rain (1)

Impossible to catch. Can win but that has been the story its past 10 starts.
