Track: Good Weather: Fine

The race many has been waiting for and the chances are right across the field. Law Of Indices creates plenty of interest & the booking of J-Mac is a handy push for it. Apache Chase is a little query at the trip but coming off a huge win in the Kingsford Smith and must be respected. Eleven Eleven will be flying late while Alligator Blood returned to form again. I Am Superman looks a big hope in this while Isotope is suited by the barrier draw and will be getting the run of the race. Startantes gets in superbly at the weights and just needs the gaps to open to be hard to beat & the chances do not end there. Expecting a cracking tempo and a superb race.

1. Private Eye (1)

Always been a huge fan of Private Eye but doesn’t get in well at the weights in this and barrier 1 does not suit its racing pattern. Needs plenty of luck to feature but does have class and must be respected.

2. Laws Of Indicies (13)

J-Mac on is a strong push and will no doubt be giving it every chance despite the wide draw. It is worth noting that he called and asked for the ride early which is quote a considerable push. Law Of Indices has the right profile for the race and looks a major player in this field.

3. Apache Chase (3)

Outstanding win last start in the kingsford Smith and should be up there in the firing line setting a hot tempo. It would be an amazing win for the locals and Apache Chase is very deserving. Some query at the trip but can run a bold race.

4. Eleven Eleven (5)

Well and truly in this from the nice draw. Maps for a beautiful run and has the turn of foot to win this race. Major player and an excellent hope.

5. Alligator Blood (21)

A good return to form by the Gator. The wide draw is the obvious query but if it can find some cover early or get within the first few it can be there fighting out the finish. Some hope.

6. Soxagon (11)

Does rely on the gaps to open but also has the turn of foot to win this race. Soxagon should be ripping down somewhere near the outside and has been racing very well. Deserves to be here and can take this out.

7. Emerald Kingdom (2)

Going well and maps nicely but I do prefer others. Some query on its form, can win but others have better credentials.

8. Wild Planet (14)

Has been hot and cold of late and hard to catch from a punting perspective. Has the ability to threaten but needs to find its best.

9. Rothfire (20)

Barrier 20 makes things really tricky for Rothfire and I do not think he has returned to anywhere near his best. Absolutely outstandingly talented horse, just a shame about the injury. I would love to see him win but hard to have here.

10. I Am Superman (18)

Dangerous in this race with the right kid of form lines and suited by a drier track. The key to I Am Superman is a dry deck so some of his form is better than it reads given the amount of wet tracks over the past 12 months. Barrier 18 won’t be easy but has a huge chance in this considering class and form.

11. Ayrton (19)

Ayrton has drawn barrier 19 so that does hinder its hopes. Can take this race out but not entirely convinced it should be the odds it is. This race appears much more open. Can win but looks too short and the map is tricky.

12. Bandersnatch (12)

Can’t have.

13. Niccanova (16)

Too hard to catch in races easier than this. Can’t have.

14. Buffalo River (10)

Wants a wet deck and won’t find it. Prefer others.

15. Isotope (4)

This is a good test for Isotope who hasn’t always had luck in the past but has flashed plenty of ability. By no means an easy race to take out but has the draw and class to do it. Good tope.

16. Brooklyn Hustle (22)

Terribly hard to catch. Can not have.

17. Vilana (8)

A lot harder here for Vilana. Racing well but prefer others.

18. Startantes (15)

In well at the weights but will need luck from barrier 15. Does have the right form and ability to win this race, it’ll come down to luck in running. With just 50kgs Startantes can give this a red hot shake.

19e. Scallopini (7)

Prefer others.

20e. Ranch Hand (23)

Despite the draw, weary of Ranch Hand. Tends to mix form but hard to deny the past few runs, can certainly take this out if it gains a start.

21e. Flying Crazy (17)

Prefer others.

22e. Tycoonist (9)

Not completely hopeless at odds, keep an eye on the market.

23e. Frankie Pinot (6)

Needs a few to come out for a run. If Frankie Pinot gets a start it is certainly going well enough to consider in top 4 chances.
