1. Cherry Tortoni
This Victorian visitor has three wins and two places from his five starts and is a major contender. I expect him to be fighting out the finish and believe he is capable of winning this.
2. Global Quest – SCRATCHED
3. Love Tap
This grey gelding won two races at Goulburn by big margins (over 4 lengths both times) before making it look easy with a 1.8 length win in the Group 3 Gloaming Stakes. Unbeaten in four starts he could be anything.
4. Street Dancer
Followed a maiden win at Newcastle with 2nd in the Gloaming. Looks to have improvement and could place again.
Finished 3rd in the Gloaming and gets blinkers on for the first time. Should be suited by the extra distance.
6. Lion’s Roar
Comes off a win over 1870m at Newcastle to give him three wins from four starts, His wins have been at Wagga, Kembla Grange and Newcastle and although this will be his first city race he is not the worst.
Finished 4.8 lengths 6th in the Gloaming and needs to improve significantly to feature here.
8. Albarado – SCRATCHED
This colt from the Godolphin stable won over 2050m at Moe on a heavy track then ran 3rd in the Derby Trial and should enjoy this distance. Put him in your exotics.
Was 6th in the Derby Trial and looks like this distance will really suit.
Won a maiden plate at Kembla Grange last outing. Not here.
Has started eight times for one place and will find this field too strong.
Flight Stakes winner last outing who should be able to handle the extra distance. She has three wins and a place from six starts and is one of the main chances.
Was 6th in the Flight Stakes and may struggle here.
4th in the Gloaming and ran the best overall race sectionals. He is still a maiden but is not without a chance.
