Track: Soft 5 Weather: Overcast

Intriguing race where a few of these met in the Scone Cup. Sky Lab was the winner of that. Mixes its form but did deserve a win and may be ready to go on with things now. It narrowly tipped out Waterford who is well and truly in the mix here. Sibaaq doesn’t win out of turn but should be around the mark while Sir Lucan will be setting the speed and up on pace. Williamsburg has bounced himself back into form and also is within the chances in what is a wide open race.

Good win last start in the Scone Cup off the back of some very consistent form in stronger company. Doesn’t often put two wins together but has claims in this and has been on a wild drift. Looms a big price.

3. Waterford (14)

Tough draw but only edged out by Sky Lab late who was flying down the outside of the track. Goes right in the mix again and deserves to be at the pointy end of the market.

Can’t have.

5. Sibaaq (4)

Hard to back with confidence as Sibaaq doesn’t win out of turn but consistent operator who is at the business end more often than not.

6. Sir Lucan (1)

Can set the tempo and give a bold sight. Last start was a good run and gets chances enhanced if there is any on speed bias on the day.

7. Star Of India (2)

Market watch here fresh off a long break. Good enough to. win but best to follow the money trail.

8. Mount Popa (13)

Can’t have.

9. Baby Rider (3)

Prefer others.

10. Torrens (5)

This looks too tough.

11. Williamsburg (12)

He is back into form and a good hope here despite the wide draw. Having a great prep and is mixing it with some good types. Can win.

Heavily backed but average effort last run. Prefer others.
