There is a field of 13 mares for the $125,000 Ascend Trophies – Jungle Dawn Classic with four four-year-olds, seven five-year-olds, one six-year-old and a seven-year-old. Four runners had their last start in the Listed Jungle Mist Classic over 1200m at Ascot on 16th November (won by Baby Paris) and three in the Group 3 R.J. Peters Stakes over 1500m at Ascot on 16th Ascot (won by Mojo Rhythym), while the rest came via different races. The horses that ran the quinella last year are back to try again. Two runners are sired by Blackfriars. Trainers Michael Lane and Michael Grantham both have 2 runners.

The early favourite is Baby Paris who won this race last year and comes off a win in the Jungle Mist. Second favourite is The Boss Lady who started favourite in the Jungle Mist and came 2nd. Third favouritism is shared between Amber Glide who finished 0.5 length 3rd in the R.J. Peters and Luvnwar who finished 1.5 lengths 7th in the same race. Bonjoy resumes from a 39 week spell and won 4 in a row at the end of last campaign. The other runners are currently $13 or longer, including Rusty Dreams who ran 2nd in this race last year.

Playing God mare who won this race last year and comes off a win in the Listed Jungle Mist Classic over 1200m at Ascot on 16th November. Winning chance again.​

2. Rusty Dreams (8)

Finished 2nd in this race last year. Was going well in the Group 3 R.J. Peters Stakes over 1500m at Ascot on 16th Ascot until she peaked in the final 100m to finish 9th. Should improve here and is a place chance.​

3. Ghobella (1)

The oldest runner in the race this year. She is perfectly drawn but is better once she gets over further. Prefer others.

4. Amber Glide (9)

Finished 0.5 length 3rd in the R.J. Peters after striking interference when straightening. Gets William Pike and should be in the finish.

5. Luvnwar (12)

She finished 1.5 lengths 7th in the R.J. Peters after being wide throughout. Likes the cut in the ground and is one of the main chances.

6. Petrouchka (7)

The most lightly-raced runner and has 2 wins (including the Belmont Oaks over 2000m) and 5 places from her 7 starts. Place chance.

7. The Boss Lady (4)

Started favourite in the Jungle Mist and came 2nd. She was slowly away and blocked from the turn to the 200m but came home with good closing splits. Will run well.

8. Duchess Of Gossip (10)

Ran 3rd in the Jungle Mist when resuming. Could place.

9. Malkar Pindari (11)

Finished 9th in the Jungle Mist after being held up. Not the worst.

10. Bonjoy (13)

Resumes from a 39 week spell and won 4 in a row at the end of last campaign. won her latest trial. Has the widest barrier but with 8 wins from 14 starts she has to be included in the chances.

11. Antique Miss (3)

Hasn’t won at Ascot in 5 visits here but has great soft track form. Don’t dismiss.

12. Mama Tembu (5)

Prefer others.

13. Miss Flirtacious (6)

On a 7 day back-up after a narrow win in a BM 66+ Handicap over 1200m at Ascot. This is much harder.
