Following the early scratchings of The Big Goodbye, Shalaa’s Moment and Party For Two a full field of 13 runners remain for the 2025 TAB Goldmarket with 8 geldings and 5 mares. There are three 4YOs, four 5YOs, five 6YOs and a 7YO. Three runners had their last start in the $1 million Magic Millions Syndicate over 1100m at Sunshine Coast on 4th January (won by Payline), two in the Listed Nudgee Stakes over 1200m at Eagle Farm on 28th December (won by Bubba’s Bay), two in a BM90 over 1000m  at Eagle Farm on 28th December (won by Steady Ready) and two in an 1100m Handicap at Ipswich on 15th January (won by Sinawann) while the rest came via different races. Three runners are sired by Spirt Of Boom and two each by Capitalist, Star Turn and Zoustar. Tony Gollan has 5 runners while Adam Campton has 2.

The early favourite is Golden Boom who won the Listed Bribie over 1000m at Eagle Farm in December then was runner up in the $1 million The Syndicate over 1100m at Gold Coast on 4th January last start. Second favourite is Appin Girl who had everything go wrong for her last start after 3 great runs this campaign. Third in the market is Tiger Shark who was 2nd at Eagle Farm on 28th December and has won a recent trial. The other runners are $8 or more.

Won the Listed Bribie Handicap over 1000m at Eagle Farm in December then was runner up in the $1 million The Syndicate over 1100m at Gold Coast on 4th January last start. Has great form on soft going and looks a major chance.​

Hasn’t shown much at all 3 runs this campaign but is nicely drawn and gets James Orman. Could place.

4. Derry Grove (13)

Resumed from a 41 week spell to run 5th in The Syndicate. Jumped awkwardly and got too far back. Should improve off that.

5. King Kapa (1)

Perfectly drawn but hasn’t won for 84 weeks and don’t expect that to change here. Could place.

6. The Bopper (4)

Has been racing in Sydney and should be fitter third-up. Rough place chance.

7. Shalaa’s Moment (16)

8. Tiger Shark (10)

Was 2nd over 1000m at Eagle Farm on 28th December and has won a recent trial. Goes well at this distance and can get in the finish.

9. Appin Girl (5)

Won at Eagle Farm when resuming then was runner-up at her next 2 starts. Had no luck at her latest start in the Nudgee Stakes where she was hampered, held-up and never tested.  Forget that run and she rates highly.

10. Hardware Lane (8)

Put in a solid performance at Ipswich when resuming and can place.

11. Party For Two (12)

12. Black On Beauty (6)

Has ran 4th at her last 2 starts and won’t be far away again.

13. Saltaire (7)

Looks tested.

14. Zouperb (9)

Last-start winner at Sunshine Coast on a heavy track. Has a light weight and loves this distance. Not the worst.

15. Light Of Boom (2)

Ran onto be a close runner-up over 1000m at Ipswich last outing. Could surprise.

16. Flying Birds (11)

Finished 3rd in the Magic Millions Country Cup over 1200m last start. Not keen.
