Race 6 at Sunshine Coast Racecourse on Saturday the 11th of May 2024.
The Gold Coast Guineas is a Group 3 race held at Sunshine Coast Racecourse this year over 1200 metres. It is for three-year-olds and is run under set weights conditions. The total prize money is $200,000 this year.

Gold Coast Guineas 2024 Preview
Track: Heavy Weather: Overcast
Following the early scratching of Stefi Magnetica 17 3YOs remain for the 2024 Brandons Electrical Gold Coast Guineas with 3 colts, 6 geldings and 8 fillies. Three runners had their last start in the Listed Mick Dittman Plate over 1000m at Eagle Farm on 27th April (won by Tiger Shark), while the rest came via different races. Two runners are sired by Deep Field, two by Rich Enuff and two by Russian Revolution.
The early betting is fairly open. The early favourite is Corniche who has been close at all 3 starts this preparation. Second favourite is Moravia who hasn’t raced since 2nd March but has been trialling very well. Third favouritism is shared between Abounding who won 3 of his 4 starts last preparation, and Roll On High who had all sorts of trouble in the Listed Bendigo Guineas last start. Celui was a good winner over 1200m at Caulfield last start. The other runners are currently $16 or longer.
