Track: Good 4 Weather: Showers

Tricky field to sort. Strathtay is lightly raced and still loaded with upside. Drawn well in barrier 4 and should give a strong bid in this field. Hard to knock the way Matusalem is racing off the back of 2 solid wins and drawn well in barrier 1. Canberra Legend has been hard to catch for punters but best efforts see it go close. Changingoftheguard commands respect with J-Mac in the saddle and drawn for a kind run from the good draw.

1. Changingoftheguard (3)

Has to respected with J-Mac booked and this import does have good upside. Should be suited in this field and respect any market moves.

2. Strathtay (4)

Quality stayer on the up who has been consistent this prep, maps well and is in well at the weights. Should go close and drawn for  a gun run.

3. Canberra Legend (6)

Getting hard to catch for punters and running out of chances. Has the ability but very hard to trust. Leaning to others.

4. Matusalem (1)

Airborne this prep and suited to the good draw and this field. Gets

5. First Light (5)

Capable on its best form but has been just fair this prep. Good enough to win but needs to lift.

6. Waltham (8)

Can’t have.

7. Campaldino (7)

Not in well at the weights but gallant in defeat last start and gets a nice set up here with Tim Clark doing the riding. Going well enough to take this out.

8. Think ‘N’ Fly (2)

Hard to pot at healthy odds. Maps well and beat a lot of these home last start. May be the outsider of the field but has just a good of a chance as any of these. Keep safe.
