Track: Good Weather: Scattered Showers.

Twenty runners have accepted for the $127,250 Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes with four of them being emergencies and there have been no early scratchings. The Mick Price/Michael Kent Jr stable and the Dan Clarken/Oopy Macgillivray stable are saddling up two runners each for the event whilst the remaining trainers only have one entry each.

Harleymoven is the favourite for this contest on the back of back-to-back wins. with the latest being the four-length demolition in the Port Adelaide Guineas. Gundec heads over from Victoria to contest after a 1.5 length sixth behind rival Son of Emperor. Gundec is also entered for Sandown on Saturday, so keep an eye on the fields. Son of Emperor is also looking for a third win in a row after blitzing his rivals at Pakenham and Caulfield. This will be his toughest test to date.

Entered at Sandown in an easier race. Drawn okay here and is a definite winning chance if they stay.

3. Jungle Magnate (12)

Ran no good last start but if he goes back to the form he showed first-up, he can make himself known.

4. Harleymoven (15)

Deserved favourite. Will appreciate 2000m. Hurdle just needs to put him in a close enough position and he will win.

5. Son of Emperor (14)

Winner over 1900m when he was with David Payne so there is no issues at distance. Is he up to this class?

6. Riddlero (19)

Entered for Geelong on Friday also. Drawn horribly here. Most likely will head there.

7. Saint Tropez (10)

Outclassed.

8. Ashy Boy (20)

Handles the distance and is a quality stayer. Not sure he is up to these.

9. Yaphet (6)

Outclassed.

10. Phere The Ex (3)

Entered for Mornington on Thursday also. This is a big step.

11. Palani (1)

Second to Harleymoven last start. Will be racing for a placing again.

Hit the line well last start at Caulfield and will appreciate the extra 400m. Drawn horribly. Place chance.
