Stacked field. Landed on BoldBastille. Has a light weight and can pounce on the front. Huge respect to MorningtonGlory who has just aged like a fine wine the past 12 months. SandDoute is capable of a knockout blow at odds and expecting on speed to be suited on the day. A gap to the rest with those three being the main chances in this.

3. Golden Boom (2)

Has come up short in the market. Been handy in some QLD open races but may find these a little too slick. Expecting it to drift come race day. Can win but still too short.

4. Ashford Street (8)

Can’t have.

5. Mornington Glory (9)

Hard to knock and after failing on the heavy first up there was plenty to like about the last start win. No easy feat from barrier 9 but looks the big danger to the favourite.

6. Shirshov (5)

Can’t have.

7. Sans Doute (7)

Resumes after some very good runs last prep and couldn’t quite make it 5 in a row when being narrowly denied. Winner who knows where the line is and goes in the mix.

8. Scuderia (1)

Can’t have.

9. Bold Bastille (6)

Goes on top with the light weight and map advantage to its main rival. Kah steers, brings in the class factor and is well placed in this field to give this a shake. Big contender for Spring.
