Darwin races are held at Fannie Bay Racecourse, which is unique compared to the traditional turf tracks we see around Australia. The Fannie Bay racetrack is an oil mixed sandtrack that is located just 7 minutes from the Darwin CBD.

There are no Group races in Darwin but the club does host the Darwin Cup Carnival, which culminates in the running of the Darwin Cup. The carnival itself has over $1.6million in prizemoney up for grabs.

The Darwin Racing Carnival runs for 8 weeks from the beginning of July with the Darwin Cup winner getting $150,000. A crowd of almost 20,000 get along to Fannie Bay Racecourse on Darwin Cup day.
