Our Warrnambool Horse Racing Tips for Tuesday’s meeting.
Flying Agent (Warrnambool Race 6 No. 3)
There are several good mud runners in the Brierly Steeplchase field this year and with the track currently rated as a heavy 9 this eight-year-old looks the best pick. He won a maiden steeplechase over this 3450m distance at this track by 17 lengths back in July, won a 4000m Ballarat Hurdle by 19 Lengths on a heavy 10 in August and comes off a 2.25 length win over a 3200m hurdle race at Hamilton on a soft 6 on 4 April. The topweight Bit Of A Lad is also a good mud runner and won this race in 2019, but he extra 5kg he has to carry will take its toll.

Each Way
Villa Villekula (Warrnambool Race 9 No. 13):
This four-year-old gelding trained by Patrick Payne has two wins and two places from nine starts, including a win on heavy going. He settled well back then ran on strongly for 0.3 length 4th in a bunched finish over 1400m at Pakenham Park on 18 February, then had an eight week let-up before driving hard for a 1.5 length win over 1170m at Wangaratta on 15 April. Looks worth an each-way bet.

Best Lay
New York Baby (Warrnambool Race 5 No. 7):
This two-year-old Written Tycoon filly trained by Leon and Troy Corstens is the early favourite in the VOBIS Gold Strike for two-year-olds over 1000m. Like most of the field she is unraced and with no form to go on I am leaning towards the couple of runners who have raced before, including one who won on slow going. I am prepared to risk her at the short price.

Key Comments The track is Soft and the rail is +1 metre the entire circuit. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight.
