Our Moonee Valley Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

Shot of Irish (Moonee Valley Race 7 No. 4)
With two wins and a place from his last three starts, this Canford Cliffs gelding is in great form. He led nearly all the way when he won by 1.25 lengths over 1800m at Caulfield on 9 May, then was headed at the 200m and finished 2.75 lengths 2nd on the heavv track over 1600m at Flemington on 23 May. He came 2nd at his only previous trip to Moonee Valley and looks hard to beat.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Felicia (Moonee Valley Race 6 No. 9):
This Unencumbered filly has 2 wins and 2 places from 5 starts. She was headed at the 200m and hampered at the 25m when she ran 2.85 lengths 5th on a heavy track over 1200m at Caulfeild on 9 May, then chased hard the entire straight for a length, 0.3 length 3rd over 1100m at Caulfield on 30 May. She always tries hard and is worth an each-way bet at the current price.

Best Lay

Tavisan (Moonee Valley Race 4 No. 2):
This Tavistock gelding trained by Mick Price is the early favourite in this 1200m race. He led most of the way before being headed at the 100m to finish 2.85 lengths 4th over 1100m at Caulfield on 9 May, then led again and fought hard to win by 0.5 length over 1100m at Caulfield on 30 May. He is up 100m in distance and up in weight and does not look like a sure thing.
