Black bookers from the Super Saturday meeting at Flemington.
Black Booker #1
Annavisto (Race 2)
Not much went right for the favourite in race two. After a tardy get away, Annavisto over raced badly back in the field and clearly did not appreciate the slow tempo. However, she was still able to close her race off strongly. She was only second up on Saturday so should still have some improvement to come and will be looking for a more genuine tempo next time.
Black Booker #2
Marboosha (Race 5)
Brilliant return win from team Snowden’s Marboosha. The three year-old filly surged through a narrow gap at the 200m mark and went on to win the listed Moomba Stakes by 1.25 lengths. Think she will be even more suited stepping up in distance next start – a very nice filly in the making.
Black Booker #3
Miami Bound (Race 8)
Thought the 2019 VRC Oaks winner was the run of the race in the Australian Cup. She faced a near impossible task on the bend to win, given how far back she was, but was able to make up very good ground in the run to the line. She is racing like a horse looking for 2400m now and some sting out of the track would also work in her favour.
