Our Morphettville Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

Octane (Morphettville Race 6 No. 3)
With 4 wins and a place from 9 starts, this I Am Invincible gelding trained by Phillip Stokes has an impressive strike rate. He came from last to win by 3.5 lengths over 1050m at Morphettville on 19 October, then came from last for a 0.5 length win over 1100m at Morphettville on 2 November. He is first up here after a 22 week break and won first-up last time in. He looks likely to add another win to his record.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Dexelation (Morphettville Race 5 No. 1):
This Ambidexter gelding resumed from a 30 week break for 8.2 lengths 6th over 1200m at Murray Bridge on 23 May, then improved on that for a 0.2 length win over 1200m at Murray Bridge on 13 June. He is on a seven day back-up, has an excellent record on soft and heavy tracks and a great record at this distance range, which makes him look a good each-way bet here.

Best Lay

Born To Play (Morphettville Race 3 No. 7):
The early favourite in this 3YO maiden is this nicely bred filly who is first-up after 32 weeks and is having her first start for Tony McAvoy. She has had two previous starts for 4.3 lengths 6th over 1250m at Canterbury on 22 May, then 6.7 lengths 8th over 1100m at Kensington on 5 November. It is a big field with several horses who have gone close at their most recent start so she doesn’t look like value.
