Best bet | Race 7 #2 Battleton

Nash Rawiller sticks with this 3yo son of Zoustar and he should be winning. He’s already Group 3-placed at his past two starts and will find this easier. Last start he was solid behind Kiss Sum and he should further improve off that run. Last prep he was beaten just over four lengths behind Home Affairs, and importantly, that was at his fourth run for the campaign. He’s now fourth-up for this preparation and looks ready to win with Nash afforded a lovely gate.

Next best | Race 2 #12 Renouf

Back on her home track here for shrewd trainer Paul Jenkins. She’s also back for a crack at the race she ran third in last year. A strong case could be made she should’ve won that event. She produced an eye-catching run first-up when slow away at this track before making solid ground to run fourth behind Bonaparte. She goes well second-up and loves racing at her home circuit. Larry Cassidy has a task from the wide gate but expect her to be running on strongly at the end.

Best each-way | Race 1 #1 Star of Michelin

Star of Michelin is a bit of an enigma, but he can save his best for his home track here at the Sunshine Coast. He’s drawn to do no work from the soft game and Jimmy Orman will have plenty of options and time to assess the speed. He gets a big weight of 62.5kg here, but he’s a solid horse and it’s why they’ve put Orman on instead of claiming. This is a much easier assignments than previous starts.
