Best bet | Race 6 #1 Nudge
A group one performer in a pretty average race. She won this race last year and was good first-up last start when making good ground at group three level at Hawkesbury. She loves the mile and loves Eagle Farm. Nash Rawiller will need to be at his best from a sticky gate but I think she has the class to take this out.
Next best | Race 9 #12 Aravene
A filly who is progressing through her grades and faces her sternest test here. She was way too good for her rivals last start in Sydney on a heavy track and did it with plenty in hand. She’s drawn perfectly and Brett Prebble heads north for a rare trip – a good sign she’s a horse with talent and a serious winning chance. I reckon she can simply outstay them and it’ll be interesting to see the tactics employed to Prebble.
Best each-way | Race 2 #11 See Marie
The Desleigh Forster stable is low-flying and it should continue here with See Marie running well at a good price. She performs well first-up, handles the Eagle Farm surface, and goes particularly well over this journey winning three times from seven attempts. Most importantly she has won first-up to kick off her most recent two campaigns. Tommy Berry on is also a plus.
