Best bet | Race 1 #1 Without Thinking

This 4yo son of So You Think has always looked up to Saturday grade and gets his chance in a winnable open race to start the program. He’s fifth-up in the preparation and back on a firmer surface – and the Eagle Farm surface should pose no issues. Despite his only run here being a sixth, beaten 7.5 lengths, it was behind classy types such as Ayrton and Ellsberg. From the good draw and claim for Kyle Wilson-Taylor, he should enjoy the solid tempo before screeching home at the business end.

Next best | Race 5 #3 Honey Pot

Becoming a frustrating horse for punters, but there’s no denying she’s got talent. The most positive aspect is she handles Eagle Farm – with a second and a third in better company at this track. She is still a maiden but she won’t get a better chance to win a race in town. She’s back in trip and drawn well for Jim Byrne. She should show her class and win this stylishly.

Best each way | Race 8 #4 Thunder Mania

I’ve got a lot of time for this horse, and from the low draw he should be able to sit closer and charge to the line. His first three runs this preparation were sound, before hitting a wet track at the Sunshine Coast last start. He should be at peak fitness and I think he should handle the Eagle Farm surface. On paper he’s unplaced from three runs here, but at all three runs he wasn’t disgraced and they were in much tougher grade.
