Best Bet | Race 8 #8 Go Wandji

Just looks so beautifully placed in this race. The wide gate appears somewhat concerning on paper, but he will get back anyway so it’s no huge disadvantage. He’s won six from eight career starts and I’m sure he’s still learning his craft. the best is yet to com and Larry Cassidy has a great association with this talented sprinter. I’ll put faith in Cassidy getting the timing right again – just as he did last start at Toowoomba.

Next Best | Race 1 #7 Saweetie

I liked this girl on debut and she didn’t lose any admirers when beaten less than a length at this track back in November when leading and over-racing. The race experience will be important against a field of mostly first starters. Her rivals do have some solid trial form, but I’m tipping this I Am Invincible filly is well above average. She had a nice quiet trial and has the speed to dictate.

Best Each-Way | Race 5 #5 Irukandji

Such a tricky horse to follow so this might be the wrong move backing this bloke as the each-way play. But, it’s no surprise to see him backing up with a senior jockey aboard after never being a factor last start at the Gold Coast. From barrier one and with winkers applied, Ryan Maloney will ensure he’s put into the race and given his chance to run well. His only run at this track netted a third to Tamilaide a few starts ago. That’s good form to be highly competitive here.
