Our Eagle Farm Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

Solar Star (Eagle Farm Race 3 No. 5)
This Zoustar mare has been going well this campaign. She led narrowly to the home turn but faded in the straight for 1.9 lengths 5th over 1200m at Eagle Farm on 23 May, then did much better next start when she hit the front at the 250m and drew away for a 1.25 length win over 1300m at Eagle Farm on 13 June. A similar performance will see her win again.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Master Jamie (Eagle Farm Race 7 No. 1):
This Poet’s Voice three-year-old has won 11 of his 15 starts, with 8 of those wins at his home track of Rockhampton. He finished last campaign with two consecutive wins over 1200m at Eagle Farm before a 19 week spell. He resumed in an open handicap over 1100m at Rockhampton where he was gunned down in the final stride for a close 2nd on 23 June. He goes well second-up and is definitely worth an each-way bet.

Best Lay

Toffee Tongue (Eagle Farm Race 8 No. 9)
This Red Dazzler mare is the early favourite here after racing in Group races at her latest starts. She finished 2.95 lengths 5th in the G3 Tattersall’s Cup over 2400m at Eagle Farm on 13 June, then dropped back in distance for 2.8 lengths 5th in the G3 Sapphire Stakes over 1630m at Doomben on 27 June. She is on a short back-up of seven days but has drawn out wide in a big field and this looks a tough assignment.
