Our Doomben Horse Racing Tips for the 21st of May.

The feature races of the day are the Bill Carter Stakes (race 3), Chief De Beers (race 4), Pam O’neill Stakes (race 5), BRC Sprint (race 6), Doomben Cup (race 7) and The Roses (race 8).

The Catch (Doomben Race 1 No. 9)
In quite an open card, The Catch sticks out as a good bet. It has returned in extremely good order, handles all conditions, maps well and brings in winning form which some of its rivals do not have. The Catch looks a nice way to kick off the day.

Each Way

Chilko Lake (Doomben Race 8 No. 10)
Chilko Lake needs to take another step in order to win this race but I believe it can and thus far has only been on an upward spiral. Maps beautifully in barrier 2 and Sydney form constantly tends to hold up in QL. Chilko Lake sees a sharp rise in grade and trip but that doesn’t look to be a problem judging by the way it has been racing. It can take this out at $20.00

Best Lay

Zaaki (Doomben Race 7 No. 1)
He’s one of my favourites and one of the best in the land but the $1.35 on offer for Zaaki seems far too short given the conditions. The line looked to have come just at the right time last run so the step up to 2000 has me weary and there was less than a length between Zaaki & Polly Grey. The stable admitted they much prefer him on top of the ground and he looks risky at the odds on offer.

Covered Call (Balaklava Race 4 No. 1) This four-year-old Adelaide gelding resumed from a spell for 4.3 lengths 5th over 1200m at Murray Bridge where he worked home late, then started favourite but was overpowered in the final 50m for 1.3 lengths 2nd over 1400m at Murray Bridge on 13 June. He is third-up, fitter and ready to break his maiden status. $2.70 Each Way Vivaldi's Quest (Balaklava Race 9 No. 17)

Best Bets Our Horse Racing Tips for the 29th of June. Ghostwriter (Eagle Farm Race 7 No. 5) Ghostwriter strikes the right race and should prove hard to beat. It was heavily tried last start and should be extremely suited by the rail out. Expect an aggressive ride early and it will be hard to run down. $4.80 Each Way Hettinger (Eagle Farm Race 5 No. 5) Hettinger presents good value at the $12.00 mark. It put in a solid run

Platinum Class | (Belmont Race 2 No.9) This is a very thin maiden race and I reckon this unraced War Chant filly is worth the bet. Her trials have been good and they have been patient with her, so I think she is ready to put her best foot forward in her debut. She has drawn nicely, and has Chris Parnham aboard, so all going well,

Dragon Kingdom | (Happy Valley Race 4 No.8) Happy to side with this Holy Roman Emperor gelding who has had a consistent preparation thus far. He was over-run late in the race last start to finish within a length in third and the form from that race has already been franked with Bundle of Charm winning comprehensively on the weekend. He has drawn ideally in
