This five-year-old Swiss Ace gelding trained by Kris Lees has had three wins and a place from five starts. He switched inside the leader at the 300m but only battled for 2.6 lengths 5th over 1200m at Newcastle on 26 June, then led all the way in a five horse field on a heavy track for a 1.32 length win over 1250m at Canterbury on 14 July. Has won two from three this campaign and looks the leading hope.

Agrum (Randwick Race 4 No. 4):
This three-year-old Deep Field gelding trained by Matthew Smith at Warwick Farm has one win and one place from two starts. He debuted with a strong 3.66 length win over 1000m at Gosford on heavy going on 29 June, then kept chasing but found the winner too strong at the end for 0.15 length 2nd over 900m at Newcastle on 10 July. Looks up to a race in town and is worth an each-way bet.

Exotic Ruby (Randwick Race 8 No. 2):
This five-year-old Snitzel mare trained by Bjorn Baker is the early favourite in this Fillies & Mares BM 72 handicap over 1400m. She kept battling away in heavy going for 2.4 lengths 3rd over 1400m at Rosehill on 3 July, then was winded in the latter stages for 4.99 lengths 5th over 1400m at Randwick on 17 July. Has drawn the rails but hasn’t made the quinella in six starts this preparation and others offer better value.
