Our Gosford Horse Racing Tips for Wednesdays meeting.

La Grisa (Gosford Race 4 No. 1)
This five-year-old mare trained by John O’Shea has three wins and five places from 16 starts. She didn’t run on when 6.1 lengths 9th in the Listed Australia Day Cup over 2400m at Warwick Farm on 26 January, then chased hard to find the front at the 150m and raced away to win by 2.8 lengths over 2200m at Warwick Farm on 10 February. She has drawn the inside barrier and should win again.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Champagne Vega (Gosford Race 7 No. 7):
This five-year-old Lope De Vega gelding has five wins and seven place from 27 starts. He resumed after 26 weeks for a 0.32 length win over 1300m on his home track of Canberra on 13 January, then ran on strongly for a 4 length win over 1400m on a soft track at Canberra on 5 February. Looking for a hat-trick and is  a great each-way bet.

Best Lay

Zudin (Gosford Race 2 No. 4):
This Redoubte’s Choice colt trained by Chris Waller is the early favourite in this maiden handicap over 1600m. He only battled on the heavy track for 0.8. 1.5 lengths 3rd over 1550m at Canterbury on 29 January, then was winded late for 4.7 lengths 5th over 1550m at Canterbury on 12 February. Others appear to have better chances and I am prepared to risk him here.

Key Comments The rail is out 4 metres. The best bet was very unlucky last start when flying home and can kick the day off in fashion. Best Bet Bews (Caulfield Heath Race 1 No. 3) This 4yo Gelding has a booming turn of foot but usually requires a bit of luck in its runs. Flew to the line last start and finds a similar assignment here. May need a touch of luck getting off the rails at the right time but has

Best Bet Dance Boss (Ascot Race 3 No. 3) Dance Boss just missed when resuming at Ascot last start. He should take improvement from that run and is the one to beat.
