Our Sapphire Coast Horse Racing Tips for Tuesdays meeting.
Dragon’s Breath (Sapphire Coast Race 1 No. 2)
This three-year-old Sepoy gelding trained by Natalie Jarvis at Moruya has two places from five starts. At the end of his first campaign he was winded in the straight and finished 8.9 lengths 7th over 1200m at Goulburn on 7 February, then resumed after a 13 week spell for 2, 0.1 lengths 3rd on a heavy track over 1010m at Moruya on 13 May. Gets the blinkers on for the first time and looks ready to win his maiden.
Stella Baia (Sapphire Coast Race 3 No. 8):
This four-year-old Pins mare trained by Joseph Ible at Canberra has one win from two starts. At her first start she kicked away from the corner and won by 1.49 lengths over 1000m at Gundagai on 14 November, then led but did some work from out wide and winded in the last 200m for 8.8 lengths 7th over 1000m at Canberra. Resumes from a 26 week spell and looks a solid each-way chance.
Scarleo (Sapphire Coast Race 6 No. 4):
This four-year-old Helmet gelding trained by Barbara Joseph and Paul Jones at Canberra is the early favourite in the Winter Cup handicap over 1607m. At the end of last campaign he finished 0.6 length 4th in the Christmas Cup over 1300m on 20 December, then was spelled for 20 weeks. On resuming he finished 11.8 lengths 11th in a Highway Class 3 Handicap over 1500m at Rosehill on 15 May. Drops 4kg from that run and is back to country racing but others rate better and he offers no value.
Our Terang Tips for Tuesday's meeting. Key Comments The rail is true. The best bet comes off a 9 length romping and looks every chance of going one better despite the rise in grade. Best Bet Galloping Guru (Terang Race 7 No.2) Galloping Guru atoned with 2 luckless runs and put a 9 length margin on them. Goes up in grade but looks progressive and can head to the front and prove tough to mow down. Expecting the support to come prior to
Our York Horse Racing Tips for Monday’s meeting. Comments The track is good and the rail is in the true position. Best Bet Trigger Finger (York Race 1 No. 8) Trigger Finger resumes from a 20 week spell and has started at York 3 times before for 2 places. Leading hope to break his maiden status. $2.70 Each Way Thinking Game (York Race 7 No. 8) He was overhauled late over 1940m
Our Sha Tin Horse Racing Tips for Sunday's meeting. Key Comments There is a 10-race program and the rail is in the B+2 position. The feature is the Hong Kong Classic Cup over 1800m (race 7), which is the second leg of the Four-Year-Old Classic Series. The track should be Good with good weather forecast, and the first race is at 1 pm Hong Kong time which is 4 pm AEDT. Best Bet Helios Express (Sha Tin Race 7 No. 1) Helios
Our Pakenham Tips for Sunday's meeting. Key Comments The rail is out 7 metres the entire circuit. The best bet lines up on the back off some strong effort in a recent trial and looks well placed against these. Expecting those to run on and have their chance in the straight. Best Bet Egerton (Pakenham Race 2 No. 5) Trialled behind a lot of these and looked very good hitting the line with plenty of steam. The wide draw means it'll get back
