Our Wagga Wagga Horse Racing Tips for Thursdays meeting.
Day 1 of the Wagga Carnival.
Shenandoah (Wagga Race 5 No. 7)
This four-year-old Manhattan Rain gelding trained by Keith Dryden at Canberra has two wins and three places from 11 starts. He battled on well for 3.37 length 4th in a BM 65 handciap over 1300m at Canberra on 31 March, then looked the winner until tiring in the last 100m and finishing 0.24 length 2nd over 1600m at Canberra on 23 April. He was heavily backed on that day and I’m expecting him to be a major contender here.

Each Way
Kermatin (Wagga Race 3 No. 12):
This three-year-old Kermadec filly from Canberra has one win and one place from her five starts. She was slowly away and drifted back until battling away for 3 lengths 5th over 1200m at Canberra on 31 March, then drifted back before working into the race straightening then driving to the front at the 200m and racing away for a 2.76 length win over 1600m at Wagga on 18 April. Rates highly with Jeff Penza aboard again and is a nice each-way bet.

Kibosh (Wagga Race 8 No. 7):
This three-year-old So You Think filly trained by John P Thompson at Randwick has a win and three places from five starts and is the early favourite in this Class 2 handicap over 1400m. She resumed from a 20 week spell for 2.61 lengths 2nd over 1000m at Canberra on 9 April, then led on the rails and kicked away in the straight for a 0.58 length win in a maiden handicap over 1200m at Canberra on 23 April. This is a much harder race and the wide barrier is no help. Prefer others.
