Our Rosehill Horse Racing Tips for the weekend. The feature is the Group 3 Festival Stakes (race 8).

Brookspire (Rosehill Race 9 No. 4)
This four-year-old Hinchinbrook mare trained by Chris Waller has three wins and two places from eight starts. When resuming after 16 weeks she found the front at the 300m and raced away for a 3.5 length win over 1400m at Kensington on heavy going on 25 August, then was wide with no cover in the middle stages before finishing 1.8 lengths 5th over 1500m at the Rosehill at Kembla Grange meeting on 11 September. Back from a let-up and a proven performer on rain-affected going. Rates highly.

Each Way

Brutality (Rosehill Race 8 No. 13):
This five-year-old Shamus Award gelding trained by Joe Pride has five wins and seven places from 21 starts. When resuming from a 17 week spell he kept chasing from well back for 5.8 lengths 11th over 1200m at Randwick on 23 October, then chased hard from well back in the field for 5 lengths 3rd over 1300m at Newcastle on 13 November with the best last 800m race sectional. Has won two from three at Rosehill and has several wins in the wet. Looks a good each-way chance here.

Best Lay

Francesco Guardi (Rosehill Race 10 No. 9):
This four-year-old Frankel gelding trained by Chris Waller is the early favourite in this BM 78 Handicap over 1500m. His first five starts were in Britain where he won his first start over 1402m. He kept chasing once clear for 1.3 lengths 4th over 1400m at Rosehill on 6 November, then kept chasing but was no match for the winner late when 0.4 length 2nd over 1500m at Rosehill on 17 November. Without knowing how he will handle the heavy track I am prepared to risk him here.

Key Comments The track is rated a Heavy 9 and the rail is +4 metres the entire circuit. It's a day for mud runners. Best Bet King Yoshi (Sunshine Coast Race 4 No. 3) He had no luck at all when resuming from a break and came home fast late with good closing splits. He had trialled well prior to that and won second-up last preparation. Hard to beat. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson Each

Horse Racing Tips: HK Wednesday 24th April 2024

Key Comments There is a 9-race program under the lights at Happy Valley. The rail is in the C+3 position for the meeting, and there is heavy rain forecast in the lead-up so the track could deteriorate. The first race is at 6.40pm Hong Kong time which is 8.40pm AEST. Best Bet Snowalot (Happy Valley Race 6 No. 2) Snowalot was a 0.5 length winner at this track and distance last start after being taken back from a wide barrier and running on

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Thursday 25th April 2024

Key Comments The rail is true for the 8 race program on ANZAC Day. The feature races include the Anzac Day Stakes (race 5) and the Vrc St Leger (race 6). The best bet comes up in race 4 and looks to be a very promising type who can justify its odds on quote. Best Bet Liberty State (Flemington Race 4 No. 9) A lot to like about the last 2 wins this prep including a lass start 5 length romping in a

Best Bet Dreamzel (Mount Gambier Race 1 No. 7) Dreamzel ran 2nd on debut at Ballarat and has only had 2 runs. Resumes from a 20 week break and gets a 3kg claim. Hard to beat.
