Our Randwick Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

Feature races are the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (race 6), Group 1 Surround Stakes (race 7), Group 2 Guy Walter Stakes (race 5), Group 2 Skyline Stakes (race 2), Group 2 Sweet Embrace Stakes (race 3) and Group 3 Liverpool City Cup (race 4).

Shaquero (Randwick Race 2 No. 1)
This two-year-old colt is one of three Chris Waller runners in the Skyline Stakes and has two wins and a place from his four starts. He finished a close 2nd over 1100m at Gold Coast on 9 January, then showed plenty of fight to win the Magic Millions 2YO Classic over 1200m at Gold Coast on 16 January. He has won at Randwick before and looks perfectly placed.

Each Way

La Mexicana (Randwick Race 7 No. 9):

This three-year-old I Am Invincible filly trained by Anthony Freedman has five wins and two places from seven starts and has done all her racing in Victoria. She chased hard along the inside to win by 0.5 length over 1100m at Caulfield on 26 January, then she took over at the 150m and held on for a 0.1 length win in the Group 3 Kevin Hayes Stakes over 1200m at Caulfield on 6 February. She is a lovely type and is worth an each-way wager.

Best Lay

Icebath (Randwick Race 5 No. 7):
This four-year-old Sacred Falls mare is the early favourite in the Group 2 Guy Walter Stakes over 1400m. She finished last campaign with a close 2nd in the Golden Eagle on a heavy track over 1500m at Rosehill on 31 October, then resumed for 0.4, 1.3 lengths 3rd in the Group 3 Triscay Stakes over 1200m at Randwick on 13 February. She goes well on softer tracks, but this is a race full of good mares and I think her price is too short.
