Our Randwick Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

The major races are the Group 1 All Aged Stakes (race 7) and the Group 1 Champagne Stakes (race 6).

Masked Crusader (Randwick Race 7 No. 2)

This four year old Toronado gelding trained by Team Hawkes has five wins and four places from 11 starts. He charged through a tight split with William Pike riding to go clear for a 2.5 length win in the Group 1 William Reid Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley on 19 March, then was looking for a run straightening and was held up from the 300 to 200m before finishing 2 lengths 2nd in the Group 1 T J Smith Stakes over 1200m at Randwick on 10 April with the best last 800m race sectional of the day at distance. He is ready for the 1400m and should win.

Roheryn (Randwick Race 5 No. 4):

This five-year-old Lonhro gelding trained by James Cummings has seven wins and five places from 19 starts. He raced keenly in the middle stages and was well back straightening to finish 4.1 lengths 6th in the Group 3 Southern Cross Stakes over 1200m at Randwick on 13 February, then ran on strongly from well back for 1.3, 0.2 lengths 3rd in the Group 3 Star Kingdom Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill on 3 April. He goes well at Randwick and looks a good each-way bet.

Best Lay

Zaaki (Randwick Race 4 No. 1):
This six-year-old imported gelding trained by Annabel Neasham has 4 wins in the UK between 1600m and 1750m. At his last UK start he finished 7.8 lengths last of 7 over 1609m at Sandown Park on 16 September. At his first Australian start he chased hard when switched inside runners at the 200m to finish 3.4 lengths 6th in the Group 1 Doncaster Mile over 1600m on 10 April where he had the best last 200m race sectional of the day at distance. He has won one of four second-up starts and I am prepared to risk him here at the short price.

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Friday 19th April 2024

Key Comments The rail is in 4 metres from the 1000m-380m mark and true for the remainder. The best bet looks primed to break through. Best Bet Elba ( Cranbourne Race 2 No. 6 ) Boasts 4 placings to date, all of them in some decent company and now Elba gets its chance to breakthrough. Tackles this off a freshen up, comes up with the pole position and looks poised to give this race a red hot shake. Analyst: Bryce Parker

Horse Racing Tips: QLD Saturday 20th April 2024

Key Comments The feature races are the Ascot Quality Handicap (race 8) and the Daybreak Lover (race 9). The track is Good and the rail is +1 metre the entire circuit. Best Bet Iverson (Eagle Farm Race 4 No. 10) Iverson has had 3 starts since joining the Robert Heathcote stable for 2 wins and a runner-up. He won by 2.5 lengths here last start and should go well again with a 2kg claim and good barrier. Check odds on SmartB Analyst:

Horse Racing Tips: SA Saturday 20th April 2024

Key Comments The feature is the H C Nitschke Stakes (race 8). The track is rated Good and the rail is in the true position. Best Bet Fancify (Morphettville Race 9 No. 8) Fancify resumes after 20 weeks and was won both her previous first-up starts. She’s only missed the quinella once in 7 starts and should be hard to catch. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson Each Way Trumpsta (Morphettville Race 3 No. 7)

Horse Racing Tips: QLD Friday 19th April 2024

Key Comments There's a massive 10 race meeting. The track is Soft and the rail is +0.5 metres from the 700m-300m and true for the remainder. Best Bet Unleash (Gatton Race 5 No. 6) Unleash was a winner at Toowoomba two starts back then got in all sorts of bother last start when she was slowly away, over-raced, bumped and held-up but still managed to grab 3rd. If she is ridden forward she should be hard to catch. Check odds on SmartB
