This Medaglio DÓro mare trained by Brad Widdup at Hawkesbury has had 6 wins and 2 places from 8 starts. She settled 2nd and took over at the 300m and fought on strongly for a 0.5 length win over 1100m at Rosehill on a heavy track on 30 May, then raced in a similar manner but sped away to win by 2.3 lengths over 1100m at Rosehill on a heavy track on 13 June. She had a ten week let-up and was 2nd in a Randwick trial on 11 August. She handles all types of going and looks ready for win number seven.

It’s Me (Randwick Race 2 No. 14):
Highway Handicaps are always a bit of a lottery with runners coming from so many different form lines, but this mare looked something special when winning her only start over 1000m at Scone on 4 August. She was 7th and wide at the turn, raced greenly, had to be checked and change course at the 200m and still got away to win by 2.3 lengths . I think she is worth an each-way bet on the basis of that run.

Master Of Wine (Randwick Race 7 No. 7):
This gelding from the Hawkes stable is the early favourite in the Group 1 Winx Stakes over 1400m. He won four races in a row before finishing 4th in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes and resumes after 19 weeks. His first-up record is good but there are others in the field whose first-up record is better. This is a very tough race with lots of runners already having Group 1 wins, while he hasn’t. He will go well but I don’t think he will win.
