Our Randwick Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

Day 1 of The Championships with four Group 1 races, a Group 2 race, four Group 3 races and the Country Championship.

The Irishman (Randwick Race 2 No. 4)
This Tavistock colt trained by Mark Newnham has two wins and two places from five starts. He resumed from a nine week break for a narrow win over 1400m at Warwick Farm on 3 March where he fought hard to get the bob in, then chased hard to find the front at the 220m but was run down late for 0.4 length 2nd behind Hungry Heart in the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes. He is fitter now and should win this.

Each Way

Lightsaber (Randwick Race 6 No. 3):

This Zoustar colt trained by Peter Moody has three wins and a 2nd from his four starts. He won by 2.25 length over 1400m at Sandown Hillside on 17 February, then won by 1.5 lengths in the Group 2 Sires Produce over 1400m at Flemington on 6 March. They were both good wins and he is the only horse in the field to have won over the 1400m distance of the ATC Sires Produce. He looks an excellent each-way bet.

Best Lay

Never Talk (Randwick Race 10 No. 6):
This No Nay Never filly has five wins and a place from nine starts and is the early favourite in the Group 3 P J Bell Stakes for three-year-old fillies over 1200m. She did well for 0.2 lengths 2nd in the Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes over 1200m on 13 February, then kept chasing for 4.2 lengths 4th in the Group 1 Surround Stakes over 1400m at Randwick om 27 February. She is a good filly but as all her wins have been in the 900m to 1100m range I am prepared to risk her here.

Black Bookers – Doomben, 10 April 2021

I want to be forgiving of horses on the inside as virtually nothing won or finished well from there all day. Horses at least two off the fence travelled and performed best throughout the program. Race 3 – Foreign Territory He was heavily-backed to start near-favourite, but not much went right for this son of Tavistock. As the steward’s report shows, he jumped out at the start and then proceeded to pull hard in the middle stages of the event. He then hung out rounding the home turn but was

Black Bookers: Randwick (Saturday 10th April 2021)

Black bookers from Saturday's Group 1 meeting at Randwick. Black Booker #1 & #2 I think there’s two horses we can take out of the Australian Derby. Montefilia (Race 7) Firstly, the talented filly Montefilia who finished fourth in the race.  She made up steady ground closer to the fence.  The three that fought out the finish were much wider on the track and in the better ground.  Assuming she has come through the run well she will back up in the Australian Oaks this week and

Best Bets Our Naracoorte Racing Tips for Wednesdays meeting. Monteferrante  (Naracoorte Race 6 No. 5) This five-year-old Pierro mare trained by Tony McEvoy has had 22 starts for two wins and 10 places and has been racing at metropolitan tracks. She settled well back and battled on steadily for 5.9 lengths 6th over 2400m at Sandown Hillside on 24 February, then came from well back to look the likely winner at the 100m before being caught and finishing 0.5 length 2nd over 1950m at Morphettville Parks on

Best Bets Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday's meeting. Stellar Vista (Ascot Race 8 No. 8) This three-year-old Star Witness filly has started twice for a win and a place. At her first start she ran on strongly taking over late for a 0.56 length win over 1300m at Pinjarra Park on 18 March, then she peeled four-wide at the turn and ran on for 1.6 lengths 2nd over 1400m at Ascot on 3 April. She looks to have a bright future ahead of her and should
