Our Grafton Horse Racing Tips for Wednesdays meeting.

Onemore Sapphire (Grafton Race 2 No. 2)
This five-year-old Onemorenomore gelding trained by Tracey Bartley at Wyong has five wins and eight places from 26 starts and has won at his only previous start at this track. He chased hard for 0.44 lengths 2nd over 1900m at Canterbury on 9 June, then kept chasing for 0.01, 0.36 length 3rd over 1900m at Canterbury on a heavy track on 23 June where he had the best last 200m race sectional. Looks the testing material.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Oakfield Prince (Grafton Race 6 No. 4):
This three-year-old So You Think gelding trained by Damien Lane at Wyong has had five starts for three wins and a place. He chased solidly to hit the front at the 200m and kept going for a 0.85 length win over 1500m at Port Macquarie on 31 May, then led nearly all the way for a 2.9 length win over 1600m at Taree on 28 June. Has drawn very wide but still looks a good each-way chance.

Best Lay

Alpha Go (Grafton Race 4 No. 5):
This three-year-old gelding trained by Tony Newing at Gosford is the early favourite in this Colts, geldings & entires Class 2 handicap over 1100m. He was headed in the final 100m for 0.1, 1 length 3rd over 1200m at Nowra on 17 June, then chased solidly without threatening for 1.29, 1.16 lengths 3rd in the Guineas Prelude over 1420m at Grafton on 27 June. He’s been racing well without winning and I’m expecting him to place again.
