Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.
The feature races is the Karrakatta Plate over 1200m (race 8).
Pletto (Ascot Race 6 No. 9)
This five-year-old Playing God mare has four wins and eight places from 12 starts. She had a good final 400m sectional when she finished 0.65 length 2nd over 1400m at Bunbury on 6 March, then peeled three wide and ran on strongly for a 0.38 length win over 1400m at Ascot on 20 March. With barrier 2 and William Pike riding she should win again.

Scooter’s Machine (Ascot Race 1 No. 1):
This six-year-old Maschino gelding is running well at the moment. He tried hard but couldn’t catch the leader when 1.68 lengths 2nd over 1200m at Bunbury on 6 March, then was running 2nd before fading late over 1400m at Ascot on 20 March. Back to a shorter trip he looks a good each-way bet.

Billy Ain’t Silly (Ascot Race 3 No. 1):
This I’m All the Talk gelding is the early favourite in this 3YO Handicap over 1400m. He resumed after 29 weeks for 0.07, 2.2 lengths 3rd over 1200m at Pinjarra Park on 3 March, then led all the way for a 1.34 length win over 1200m at Pinjarra Park on 18 March. This is a tougher race and he doesn’t represent value.

The first race is at 1 pm Hong Kong time which is 3 pm AEST. Best Bet Call Me Glorious (Sha Tin Race 8 No. 7) He was a 2 length winner at his debut in February, then ran 2nd at his only other start after leading most of

Best Bet Time To Launch (Dalby Race 4 No. 4) This mare has placed at all 4 starts this preparation. She’s drawn ideally and should be able to lose her maiden status. Key Comments 8 race card on a good 4 track. The best bet is in the first and looks placed to win off the back of a sound return off a long break. Best Bet Media World (Kembla Grange Race 1 No. 3) This 2yo Colt was sound first up without much luck and looks set for better races than this. Can get the dream run from barrier 1 and break maiden in what is a handy field. Check odds on SmartB
