Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

The feature races are the G3 W.A. Oaks for 3YO fillies (race 8) and the Melvista Stakes over 2200m (race 4).

Miss Conteki (Ascot Race 9 No. 11)
This four-year-old Eurozone mare trained by Simon Miller has four wins from five starts. At the end of last campaign she took over at the 150m and dashed away for a 1.48 length win over 1000m at Ascot on 13 May, then resumed from a 43 week spell for a 1.86 length win over 1000m at Ascot on 10 March where she had the best final 400m sectional of the meeting. She looks to be a special mare and should win again.

Each Way

Some Sort (Ascot Race 7 No. 1):
This four-year-old Snippetson gelding has four wins and two places from 10 starts. He struggled in two races in February 2020 and went for a 31 week spell then resumed with a 1.38 length win over 1100m at Kalgoorlie on 3 October. Following the one run he has been spelled for a further 23 weeks but won a recent trial and should run well enough first-up to be worth an each-way bet.

Best Lay

Kia Ora Star (Ascot Race 5 No. 1):
This seven-year-old Blackfriars gelding is the early favourite in this Graduation Handicap, One Metro Win over 1800m. He tried hard when 1.93 lengths 4th over 1600m at Ascot on 20 February, then ran on strongly for a 3.47 length win over 1675m at Bunbury on 11 March. That was his 4th win from 40 starts, and I think he will find it too hard to put together back-to-back wins.

Key Comments The rail is true. The best bet comes up in race 3 and only needs a pinch of luck from the barrier to be breaking maiden. Best Bet Beautiful View (Horsham Race 3 No. 1) Needs luck from out there but has been around the mark all this prep and Fry is an ideal booking. Does find the right race here and still looms at backable odds. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker Each

Key Comments The rail is true. The best bet comes up in the last. Best Bet Mishare (Seymour Race 8 No. 6) Likeable return when running 3rd in a race no harder than this. The kind draw and ideal map makes for appeal and there has been good support come race day. Key Comments The rail is true. The best bet comes up in the first race at a short price and is a good multi banker. Best Bet Snippety Star (Orange Race 1 No. 10) All runs to date have been solid and Snippety Star won't get a better chance to win than this. Latham does the riding and the depth here is thin. This race suits and is a good multi banker for the weekend. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker

Key Comments There are 2 features on the meeting. The Mornington Cup (race 8) and the Hareeba Stakes (race 9). The rail is out 9 metres and the best bet is in the first. Best Bet Perspiration (Mornington Race 1 No. 1) Has been excellent to date in 2 runs so far and looks ready to win. Ethan Brown does the steering and you can argue it should have won last start when taken wide and hit the line with plenty of intent.
