Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for the weekend. Feature races are the Group 1 Railway Stakes (race 8), Group 2 WA Guineas (race 7), Listed Placid Ark Stakes (race 5), Listed Carbine Club of WA Stakes (race 6) and Listed Jungle Mist Classic (race 9).

Pure Devotion (Ascot Race 1 No. 1)
This four-year-old So You Think mare trained by Grant & Alana Williams has three wins and four places from eight starts. She came from last for a 0.7 length win over 1600m at Ascot on 23 October, then ran on strongly from well back in the field for a 0.7 length win over 2200m at Ascot on 6 November. Has shown lots of ability and should win again.

Each Way

Ginger Flyer (Ascot Race 4 No. 2):
This five-year-old Gingerbread Man mare trained by Simon Miller has five wins and nine places from 17 starts. She took over at the 200m and kicked best for a 1.6 length win over 1400m at Ascot on 30 October, then chased steadily for 2.8 lengths 2nd over 1400m at Ascot on 13 November. Has been in the quinella at all six starts this campaign and looks a great each-way chance on a seven day back-up.

Best Lay

Hot Zed (Ascot Race 6 No. 10):
This four-year-old Red Hot Choice gelding trained by Lou Luciani has six wins and six places from 15 starts and is the early favourite in the Carbine Club of WA Stakes over 1400m. He fought hard but was outsprinted i the final 200m for 1.3 lengths 3rd over 1200m at Ascot on 23 October, then made some ground after a tough run for 3.1 lengths 5th over 1200m at Ascot on 13 November. Yet to win beyond 1200m and offers no value.

Best Bets Our Sandown Lakeside Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday. Gate Crash (Sandown Lakeside Race 6 No. 2): Lightly raced Patrick Payne gelding in his second preparation.  His two runs back on the Hillside Track have been excellent.  He ran home strongly into second first up with a big gap back to the third horse, then shot through the gap once it appeared last time to win softly on the line.  Set up to run a new peak here third up.  Should be too good for these.
