Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

The feature races are the G3 Gimcrack Stakes for 2YO fillies (race 8), Perth Stakes for 2YO C&Gs and the Grandstand Cup over 1500m (race 6).

Magical Dream (Ascot Race 2 No. 1)
This three-year-old filly trained by Grant and Alana Williams has four wins and two places from seven starts. She resumed after 9 weeks with a 1.03 length win over 1200m at Ascot on 16 January where she had good final 400m sectionals, then she finished 1.75 lengths 2nd in the Western Australian Breeders’ Classic over 1400m at Bunbury on 6 March. This is an easier race, and with the 2kg claim for apprentice Laqdar Ramoly she should return to the winners circle.

Each Way

What About Moses (Ascot Race 5 No. 10):
This five-year-old Playing God gelding has won three of eight starts this campaign and has a great record at this track. He took over at the 200m and held on for a 0.17 length win over 1600m at Ascot on 20 February, then kept coming after a tough run for 2 lengths 4th over 1400m at Bunbury on 6 March. He looks a great each-way bet back at Ascot.

Best Lay

Rivalry Galore (Ascot Race 9 No. 6):
This five-year-old Trade Fair gelding is the early favourite in this BM 66+ Handicap over 2200m. He tried hard when 0.26, 0.28 lengths 3rd over 1800m at Ascot on 27 February, then kept coming steadily when 2.13 lengths 4th over 2000m at Bunbury on 6 March. In nine previous outings to Ascot he has only ran one place so I don’t expect him to win here.

Horse Racing Tips: QLD Wednesday 29th May 2024

Key Comments The track is soft and the rail has been moved from +2 to +5 metres the entire circuit. Best Bet Cartwheels (Doomben Race 5 No. 14) Cartwheels has been in the quinella at all 4 of her starts. Was impressive last start working home solidly from the wide gate for a 0.4 length win on a soft track. Leading hope. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson Each Way Spirit Fox (Doomben Race 2

Horse Racing Tips: SA Wednesday 29th May 2024

Key Comments The track is currently soft and the rail is +1.5 metres from the winning post to the 1500m, +3 metres from the 1200m to 400m and true for the remainder. Best Bet Our Glamour Girl (Strathalbyn Race 2 No. 9) On a four day back-up after working to the line well to finish just behind the placegetters at Murray Bridge on Saturday. She gets a 3kg claim for Caitlyn Munro and this is an easier race. Rates highly. Check odds on

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Wednesday 29th May 2024

Key Comments The rail is in the true position. Michael Dee and Jordan Childs both have a strong book of cards and are the jockeys to follow for the challenge. Expecting all runners to have their chance on this track. Best Bet Tumbling (Sale Race 8 No. 4) Races best fresh and a recent trial was a sound piece of work. Usually settles off the speed so barrier 12 isn't much of a hinderance here and strikes a race lacking depth. Check odds

Horse Racing Tips: NSW Wednesday 29th May 2024

Key Comments The rail is in 6 metres. Big odds about the best bet who is a promising import and any market support would be ideal. Best Bet Tyndrum Gold (Canterbury Race 5 No. 1) Might be looking for further and be a dust off the cobwebs run however I was impressed with the 3 career wins of Tyndrum Gold overseas and this import who has joined the Nesham stable does find a winnable race fresh. Big odds. Check odds on SmartB
