This six-year-old Lope de Vega gelding trained by Meryl Hayley drew clear late for a 2 length win over 1400m at Belmont on 15 December, then drew clear in the final 100m for a 0.8 length win over 14oom at Ascot on 1 January. Hot Zed (Ascot Race 9 No. 4):
This four-year-old Red Hot Choice gelding trained by Lou Luciano has seven wins and six places from 16 starts. He made some ground after a tough run for 3 lengths 5th over 1200m at Ascot on 13 November, then got there in the final strides for a narrow win in the Listed Carbine Club of W.A. Stakes over 1400m at Ascot on 20 November. Has had an eight week let-up and with his good record at Ascot he looks a strong each-way chance.

Chili Is Hot (Ascot Race 8 No. 7):
This four-year-old Gingerbread Man mare trained by Graeme Ballantyne has five wins and three places from 19 starts and is the early favourite in this RTG 72+ Handicap over 1800m. He took over late for a 0.3 length win over 1600m at Ascot on 11 December, then battled evenly for 2.2 lengths 4th in the Group 3 La Trice Classic over 1800m at Ascot on 1 January. Rises in weight and distance and prepared to risk her.

Horse Racing Tips: NSW Saturday 27th April 2024

Key Comments The rail is true. The 10 race card shapes up to be a good one. The best bet comes up in the third and has very good claims fresh off a break and has been trialling well. Best Bet Unusual Legacy (Rosehill Race 3 No. 9) Went in leaps and bounds last prep including not having a race to suit at Canterbury at the end of the prep and still flying to the line to win. May need the run but

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Saturday 27th April 2024

Key Comments The rail is out 4 metres. The best bet was very unlucky last start when flying home and can kick the day off in fashion. Best Bet Bews (Caulfield Heath Race 1 No. 3) This 4yo Gelding has a booming turn of foot but usually requires a bit of luck in its runs. Flew to the line last start and finds a similar assignment here. May need a touch of luck getting off the rails at the right time but has

Key Comments The rail is true. Ashley Morgan rides the best and next best of the day. Expecting the track to play fair. Currently a Soft 6 at time of writing. Best Bet Just Joan (Bathurst Race 1 No. 9) She can land up on speed and prove hard to run down from the good draw. Maps to get favours from there and looks the right price at the $3.00 mark. Morgan steers and this race suits. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce

Key Comments The rail is out 4 metres. The best bet comes up in the first of the day and is well and truly overdue for a win. Best Bet Je Reve (Gosford Race 1 No. 2) Has been around the mark all runs this prep and couldn't sustain a fast pace last run. Gosford should suit this front runner and does have 2 placings from 3 goes over this trip. Reith hops aboard for the first time and his 3yo Gelding is
