Outback Action looked the winner on debut before a wide run took its toll late and he was collared right on the line in a strong maiden. He was then far too good at Mornington – breaking his maiden by six lengths. Luke Nolen goes on here. Should prove hard to beat again.

Four year old gelding trained by Matthew Ellerton. I liked the way he knuckled down late to grab Eclipse Solar right on the wire at Sale last time out. The form out of that race has been good and he is rock hard fit which will be advantageous on the rain affected going.

Exalted Crown is a consistent type who has come up as the equal favourite in the final race on the program. He had every favour when winning narrowly at Geelong last start. I think he is short enough here stepping up in grade/distance.
