Slickback Teddy (Bendigo Race 2 No. 8):
Five year old son of Elvstroem trained by Matt Cumani at Ballarat. He resumed in a 2100m maiden at Echuca on August 26. From last on the turn he peeled off a strong final 400m to finish second behind Equine Philosopher who won again at Donald on Sunday. He looks to have found a very winnable race here second up and the booking of John Allen can only be seen as a positive. I make him a clear favourite.

Brasada (Bendigo Race 4 No. 5):
Brasada has two wins and three placings from twelve starts. He returned from a six week let up with an eye catching fourth at Benalla on August 30. He goes well at this track and maps to get a lovely run in transit from barrier eight with an in form Damian Oliver in the saddle.

Best Lay
Rinnova (Bendigo Race 6 No. 11):
Rinnova is the early favourite in race six. After a narrow win at Geelong first up, she was well supported at Cranbourne last start at benchmark 64 level where she ran a good second despite being held up upon straightening. While she stays at benchmark 64 level here, this is a much deeper race and I think she could end up in a tricky position three runners back on the fence.

Best Bet Just Joan (Bathurst Race 1 No. 9) She can land up on speed and prove hard to run down from the good draw. Maps to get favours from there and looks the right price at the $3.00 mark. Best Bet Dance Boss (Ascot Race 3 No. 3) Dance Boss just missed when resuming at Ascot last start. He should take improvement from that run and is the one to beat.
