Plein Ciel (Caulfield Race 4 No. 2)
This eight-year-old gelding trained by Danny O’Brien has a liking for Caulfield, with 4 wins and a place from 6 starts here. He chased hard to dead-heat for a win 4 lengths ahead of the third horse over 1600m at Moonee Valley on 13 June, then was outsprinted but chased steadily nearer to the inside for 4.5 lengths 4th in the Listed Winter Championship Final over 1600m at Flemington on 4 July. He has had a six week let-up and should be hard to beat on his favourite track.

This Street Boss mare has won all four of her starts this campaign for a career record of 4 wins and 3 places from 8 starts. She won two races at Sale then charged to the front at the 200m and finished strongly for a length win over 1000m at Sandown Hillside on heavy going on 24 June. Last start she took the lead inside the 150m and just held on for a 0.1 length win over 1100m at Caulfield on a heavy track. She is certainly worth an each-way bet at the current price.

Propelle (Caulfield Race 2 No. 8):
This Smart Missile mare is the early favourite in this 1000m BM78 handicap. She worked home strong for 3.4 lengths 4th over 1100m at Caulfield on 25 July in the best 600m and 400m sectionals of the day, then chased hard but couldn’t get near the winner when 3.5 lengths 2nd over 100om at Moonee Valley on 1 August. This is a similar race but others look better value.
