Our Murray Bridge Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Bullet Kid  (Murray Bridge Race 7 No. 5)
This five-year-old Exceed And Excel gelding has been racing well lately in similar races. He was 8th and wound up from the top of the straight to storm home down the outside and get there in the final stride for a 0.1 length win in a BM 54 over 1100m at Penola on 4 April, then came from 7th to hit the lead at the 100m and draw clear for a 1.9 length win in a BM 54 over 1200m at Gawler on 25 April. He is drawn nicely and has a great chance to win again.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Gogolf Guru (Murray Bridge Race 5 No. 13):
This three-year-old Shooting To win filly has four places from 10 starts. She worked home strongly taking good ground off the winner for 0.6 length 2nd over 1200m at Balaklava on 17 March, then chased strongly from well back in the field for 2.3 lengths 2nd over 1200m at Strathalbyn on 18 April. She has drawn the inside barrier and looks well worth an each-way wager.

Best Lay

Skilful Steps (Murray Bridge Race 4 No. 3):
This six-year-old Al Maher gelding is the early favourite in this BM 68 handicap over 1400m. He won a 1700m open handicap by 0.3 length at Penola on 14 January, where he raced up to hit the lead at the 100m and fought hard to hold them off, then started favourite but weakened right out to finish 8.2 lengths 4th over 1800m in the Clare Cup on 25 January. Resuming here after 14 weeks he is vulnerable at this distance and I am prepared to risk him.

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Wednesday 24th April 2024

Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight.
