Our Balaklava Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Dixie Whistler (Balaklava Race 5 No. 3)
This four-year-old Rebel Raider mare is going for a hat-trick here. She chased gamely to reel in the winner in the final 50m and win by 1.7 lengths over 1800m at Murray Bridge on 13 July, then came right away in the final 250m to win by 6.7 lengths over 2100m at Gawler on 20 July.  Both of those wins were on soft tracks and she will go well again.

Each Way

Sirmaze (Balaklava Race 8 No. 11)
This five-year-old Hampton Court gelding trained by Grant Young at Murray Bridge has won at this track and distance before. He came from well back in the field to finish 5.3 lengths 7th over 1600m at Balaklava on 29 June where he got too far back, then chased solidly for 0.9 length 2nd over 1500m at Gawler on 20 July where he was at long odds. On a seven day back-up and looks a nice each-way bet.

Best Lay

Red Roof (Balaklava Race 2 No. 9)
This four-year-old Americain mare is the early favourite in this 2YO & upwards Maiden Plate over 1400m. She finished 3.9 lengths 4th over 1400m at Murray Bridge on 13 June, then was 0.7 length 3rd over 1400m at Murray Bridge on 13 July. I find the price too short for a horse that is still a maiden after 20 starts.

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Wednesday 24th April 2024

Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Horse Racing Tips: WA Wednesday 24th April 2024

Key Comments The track is rated Good and the rail is +7 metres the entire circuit. Best Bet Platinum Shot (Pinjarra Race 7 No. 4) This filly just missed over 1400m at Geraldton last start Drawn perfectly and rates strongly. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson Each Way Cherry Can Run (Pinjarra Race 5 No. 5) Cherry Can Run finished 2nd at Narrogin last start, and normally runs well here. Looks worth an each-way bet.

Horse Racing Tips: QLD Wednesday 24th April 2024

Key Comments The track is rated as Heavy and the rail is +6 metres the entire circuit. Best Bet Jonny Da Wolf (Ipswich Race 7 No. 4) This Chris Waller runner has placed at 4 of his 5 starts and is on a 7 day back-up. Should race on the speed and is ready to lose his maiden status. Horse Racing Tips: NSW Wednesday 24th April 2024

Key Comments The rail is in 7 metres. The track is in the soft range. Suspect runners may come wide later on in the day to be finding better ground. The best bet comes up at big odds. Best Bet Sing A Love Song (Newcastle Race 8 No. 5) Has always shown glimpses of talent across its career but does mix its form. Expect an economical run from barrier 5 and only 2 starts ago did hit the line hard crossing it with
