Our Balaklava Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.
Dixie Whistler (Balaklava Race 5 No. 3) This four-year-old Rebel Raider mare is going for a hat-trick here. She chased gamely to reel in the winner in the final 50m and win by 1.7 lengths over 1800m at Murray Bridge on 13 July, then came right away in the final 250m to win by 6.7 lengths over 2100m at Gawler on 20 July. Both of those wins were on soft tracks and she will go well again.
Sirmaze (Balaklava Race 8 No. 11) This five-year-old Hampton Court gelding trained by Grant Young at Murray Bridge has won at this track and distance before. He came from well back in the field to finish 5.3 lengths 7th over 1600m at Balaklava on 29 June where he got too far back, then chased solidly for 0.9 length 2nd over 1500m at Gawler on 20 July where he was at long odds. On a seven day back-up and looks a nice each-way bet.
Red Roof (Balaklava Race 2 No. 9) This four-year-old Americain mare is the early favourite in this 2YO & upwards Maiden Plate over 1400m. She finished 3.9 lengths 4th over 1400m at Murray Bridge on 13 June, then was 0.7 length 3rd over 1400m at Murray Bridge on 13 July. I find the price too short for a horse that is still a maiden after 20 starts.
Best Bets Our Devonport Horse Racing Tips for the weekend. Boom Dot Com (Devonport Race 6 No. 3)/ Rebel Factor (Devonport Race 6 No. 5) Think this is a race in two, despite FREELANCER likely coming up short. I can’t have it. Keen to be with both BOOM DOT COM and REBEL FACTOR. BOOM DOT COM resumed in an unsuitable race on a wet deck at Launny and really found the line. Gets a 10L jockey switch here, and gets to a trip she relishes (~1400m). I
Our Bendigo Horse Racing Tips for Sunday's meeting. Best Bets Mafiore (Bendigo Race 1 No. 1) Knocking on the door and gets the perfect chance here. Has the wide draw to overcome but has plenty of ability and was unlucky to lose last start. Ready to win and the $2.20 appeals in a very winnable contest. $2.20 Each Way Lavish Thinker (Sale Race 4 No. 14) Lavish Thinker has a nice turn of foot and should be giving this race a
Best bet | Race 2 #5 Ice In Vancouver I’m surprised he’s not clear favourite here. There’s so many positives in his favour, most notably the fitness edge on his rivals and the super lightweight. Apprentice Angela Jones can get down to 52kg for this ride and it means he’ll carry 6kg less than main rivals Ef Troop and Racecourse Road. He comes here off two impressive wins to start his preparation and has only been defeated once from six starts at this 1000m sprint trip. In the small field
Our Tamworth Horse Racing Tips for Friday's meeting. Best Bets Pliskova (Tamworth Race 3 No. 7) Pliskova will need luck from the draw but this race looks within reach. It hit the line really well on debut and brings the strongest last start rating of this field. The $6.00 is over the odds provided it can find a clear passage in the straight. $6.00 Each Way Lonely Power (Tamworth Race 4 No. 1) Lonely Power has good ability and just needs
