How to pick a winner

Each Way

Texan Windstorm (Gawler Race 7 No. 4):
John Macmillan at Goolwa trains this four-year-old No Nay Never gelding who has one win and seven places from 11 starts. He battled on for 3 lengths 2nd over 1100m at Morphettville on 17 December, then was a 1.8 length winner over 1300m at Bordertown on 5 January. Resumes from a 24 week spell and placed at a Murray Bridge trial. Has placed at this track before and looks a nice each-way bet.

Key Comments The feature is the Listed Sheila Gwynne Classic for fillies & mares (race 6). The track is Good and the rail is +5 metres the entire circuit. Best Bet Siren Assault (Ascot Race 1 No. 1) This filly won 2 in a row before a game 5th in the Group 2 Karrakatta Plate over 1200m here on 20th April. Provided she can handle the 7 day back-up she will be too good for this field. Check odds on SmartB Analyst:

Key Comments The rail is true. The track is in the soft range. The best bet is halfway through the day and surprised about the odds on offer for it still. Needs to lug weight but is a huge hope against this field. Best Bet Arctic Legend (Tamworth Race 5 No. 2) Steps up in grade but was nothing short of brilliant when resuming from a long break. Suited to this field. Should be able to go right on with things here and

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Friday 26th April 2024

Key Comments The rail is true. The best bet is on earlier in the day and has been brilliant in its trials. Confident on its chances at what is still a back-able price. Best Bet Night People (Cranbourne Race 2 No. 4) Has been superb in trials and looks very hard to beat here fresh. Newitt steers so expecting some front running tactics and showed plenty in the tank in a most recent trial when hitting the front early. Likeable odds and expecting
