The daughter of Kuroshio was a touch awkward out on debut before pushing up on the rails three pairs back. As they straightened, she was blocked for a run until the 200m mark when she finally got to some clear air, but with the ground the way it was, she really needed momentum to be able to let down. She has drawn wider here which should ensure she can get some momentum up if she comes around them, and my map has her following a three-wide trail. Jason Holder will take the ride, so I strongly believe she will be given every chance here.

Trainer Kristi Evans started her second preparation with this formerly trained Mitch Beer runner last start and it’s one they would like to forget after being held up for the majority of the straight. Despite the form reading a two-length fifth, he was just over half a length off second placing whilst busting for a way out. He will again need luck from the inside barrier but the extra 100m is going to suit well and Jason Holder retaining the ride is nothing but a positive. I expect him to be in the finish with even luck.
