Our Gawler Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

Chicago Storm (Gawler Race 9 No. 9)
This three-year-old Trust in a Gust gelding trained by David Aldridge at Murray Bridge has a win and two places from four starts. He was a 4.7 length winner of a Maiden Plate over 1050m at Balaklava on 8 June, then led down the straight but was gathered in late for 0.5 length 2nd over 1200m at Morphettville on 25 June. Barend Vorster sticks with him and he looks the likely winner.

Each Way

Unlaced (Gawler Race 5 No. 9):
This five-year-old Niagara mare trained by Michael Hickmott has six wins and two places from 22 starts. She lead all the way for a length win over 1550m at Morphettville Parks on 11 June, then was swamped in the final 100m for 2.3 lengths 5th over 1600m at Murray Bridge on 2 July. On a seven day back-up and with a 3kg claim, she looks a great each-way chance.

Best Lay

Exopipi (Gawler Race 2 No. 11):
This three-year-old Toronado filly is the early favourite in this Maiden Plate over 1200m. She debuted for 2.2 lengths 3rd over 1000m at Mildura on 29 May after being slowly away, then steadily improved to finish 4 lengths 3rd over 1200m at Gawler on 22 June when she started odds-on favourite. Has drawn barrier 16 and others look to have beter chances.

Key Comments The track is rated a Heavy 9 and the rail is +4 metres the entire circuit. It's a day for mud runners. Best Bet King Yoshi (Sunshine Coast Race 4 No. 3) He had no luck at all when resuming from a break and came home fast late with good closing splits. He had trialled well prior to that and won second-up last preparation. Hard to beat. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson Each
