My Boy Birmingham | (Morphettville Race 9 No.7)

Really like this Unencumbered gelding to finish us off on a high in the last. He has had two nice jumpouts in preparation for this and although 1300m is the shortest he has run, he has the X-factor to be able to get him through. His form last preparation has him right up to this and this race isn’t that deep. There does look to be a bit of speed but he has drawn ideally in barrier 6 and should hold them out. I love the booking of Jamie Kah, who in the last 12 months has had a 27% strike rate on horses she leads on. Let’s finish on a high!

Last Girl Love | (Morphettville Race 2 No.10)

I am loving this combination today of Kah and McEvoy and I think they can get the job done in Race 2 with Last Girl Love. This Snitzel filly had the blinkers applied last time out in the Clare Lindop Stakes, but unfortunately, we weren’t able to see her full potential as she finished a long way back and post-race she was found to be lame. She has had a month off and will get the blinkers taken off for winkers, and most importantly, she steps back to benchmark 60 grade from Listed quality. I don’t think 1250m is going to be an issue as she will be on the pace either box seating or leading and she will be strong through the line.

Mr. Metrics (Morphettville Race 1 No. 11)

I thought he was very poor at Oakbank last start despite having a few issues in the run but his two wins prior haven’t rated very well. He has drawn barrier 11 and is taking on the older horses in a race where I have many in front of him. He can win without me.

Harleymoven | (Morphettville Race 6 No.4)

His last two runs have been something to behold, winning an open colts and geldings race over 1500m two back by 4.3 lengths before heading to the Port Adelaide Guineas where he was again very dominant, winning by 3.7 lengths against similar opposition. This bloke is all class and they are only offering the price they are due to people thinking about the wide draw. The majority of the speed is wide, so he will get a nice cart into the race and I expect his class to show once again.

Bons A Pearla | (Morphettville Race 7 No.4)

I thought this guy was overs already before El Patroness come out, and he is still sitting at an attractive price, which tells me the bookies don’t fear him and a lot of punters don’t want him. I loved his run in the Auraria Stakes behind rival My Whisper who he meets 3kg better off for a 0.6 length defeat. 2000m shouldn’t be an issue and they have swapped the blinkers for winkers which is a good move. He maps to get a nice run and I am expecting us to go close.

Point Blaze |  (Morphettville Race 8 No.12)

I liked the value on offer for this daughter of Shamus Award and I think she is flying under the radar at big odds. Although she was knocked off in benchmark 76 quality last start, her first-up run in Listed quality was immaculate behind Ironclad and Manhattan Times, where she finished 2.5 lengths in fourth but was awkward out, laid out near the turn and she got blocked a touch in the straight but still hit the line well. She is ready for the 1400m now and looks to camp behind a speed battle of the favoured runners. If Crowther can remain calm behind this speed, she is going to get her chance to run past them late in the straight. This is worth a speck.

Key Comments The rail is true for the 8 race program on ANZAC Day. The feature races include the Anzac Day Stakes (race 5) and the Vrc St Leger (race 6). The best bet comes up in race 4 and looks to be a very promising type who can justify its odds on quote. Best Bet Liberty State (Flemington Race 4 No. 9) A lot to like about the last 2 wins this prep including a lass start 5 length romping in a

Key Comments The rail is true for the 8 race card on Anzac Day. The best bet got too far back on career start number 2 but hit the line hard and looks to get things to suit in its upcoming run. Best Bet Wembanyama (Randwick Race 8 No. 4) Loved the way it hit the line last start when not suited coming from barrier 12 on the tight Wyong track. Drawn better in this, maps for a lovely run and has the

Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight.
