He went stride for stride with Blow Torch and gained the upper hand in the final 50 m to win by 0.9 length over 1600m at Morphettville on 25 July, then had to be steadied twice when he finished 1.6 lengths 4th over 1600m at Morphettville on 15 August. He has drawn the rails and is on a back-up of seven days. He looks a winning chance

Haileybury Miss (Morphettville Race 8 No. 10):
This Toorak Toff mare always seems to run well even though she has only won 3 of her 16 starts. She battled on steadily for 5 lengths 5th over 1600m at Moonee Valley on a heavy track on 12 July, then took over at the 100m and won by 1.5 lengths over 1741m at Geelong on 31 July. She drops 2kg from that run and looks capable of being in the finish again here.

The early favourite in this 1050m BM 58 handicap is this Deep Field gelding. He finished 1.3 lengths 2nd over 1550m at Morphettville Parks on 7 March, then got tired in the straight for 12.2 lengths 6th over 1550m at Morphettville Parks on 21 March. He resumes from a 22 week spell and only finished 8th of 9 in a Balaklava trial on 6 August and does not represent value.
