Calypso Reign | (Murray Bridge Race 1 No.1)

This Barbados gelding has been in terrific form and he will be looking for his third win in four starts. They had to drop back on him last start due to the draw but that didn’t matter as he surged through to win comfortably in the end by almost a length. This is only a small field, so he won’t have to give them a start here over the 1000m and he handles all conditions, so that won’t be a factor. Sophie Logan sticks with him, which gives him a vital 2kg off and I expect her to assess the situation at hand and give him the best possible ride. He is better than this opposition, just needs the ride and luck to confirm it.

Current Price: $2.80

Best Each Way

Lake’s Folly | (Murray Bridge Race 5 No.4)

Leaning towards this Pierro gelding here following his nice effort on the heavy going last time out. They dropped back from the inside before making a searching run, finishing 1.5 lengths back in fourth after coming from tenth. Despite going up 2kg due to the use of a senior jockey, Kayla Crowther is a pretty good upgrade who should offset what was lost. He handles all types of going and from the draw, Kayla will have plenty of options. Definitely value and an each-way play.

 Current Price: $10.00 / $3.30

Best Bet Transatlantic (Doomben Race 5 No. 2) Transatlantic is a talented Snitzel colt but has yet to race on anything worse than a Soft 6.
